Dan Weil 50th Anniversary Alumni Chair

Dan Weil’s connection to the American Liver Foundation (ALF) is deeply personal. Nearly 30 years ago, his wife, Liz, was diagnosed with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), a chronic liver disease. Inspired by her journey and driven by a desire to help others face similar challenges, Dan became involved with ALF when he joined the then-Illinois Chapter. He joined our National Board of Directors in 2010 and has been a dedicated volunteer, advocate, and philanthropic leader ever since.

Throughout his years of service, Dan has played a vital role in advancing ALF’s mission to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by liver disease through research, education, advocacy, and patient support. He served as Chair of ALF’s National Board of Directors from 2020 to 2023. Dan was ALF’s National Board Treasurer from 2012 to 2020. His leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment have helped strengthen the Foundation and expand its impact nationwide.

Professionally, Dan is a Senior Vice President and Producer with Alliant Insurance Services (Alliant), where he specializes in risk management and insurance solutions for middle-market and large national account businesses and nonprofit organizations. He has been with Alliant since 1990 and brings decades of experience serving organizations across a wide range of industries. In addition to his work with ALF, Dan has served as a governing board member of the Scholarship & Guidance Association in Chicago.

As Alumni Chair of the American Liver Foundation’s 50th Anniversary National Legacy Gala, Dan is proud to help celebrate five decades of progress in the fight against liver disease. He invites fellow ALF alumni, volunteers, supporters, and friends to join him in investing in the Foundation’s future. Their generosity will help advance critical research, patient support services, education, and advocacy efforts while ensuring that ALF continues to transform lives for generations to come. Together, as we celebrate 50 years of impact, we can lay the foundation for the next 50 years of hope, innovation, and progress toward a future free from liver disease.
